Bernard Manning was unique. In comedy he was totally
honest not like these so called alternative comics who have jumped
on the bandwagon to condemn him. Their websites read like Judas
who sold his soul for 30 pieces of silver.
I've also listened to the politicians on Question Time who more
or less suggested good riddance to bad rubbish, those opinionated
wankers who thought they know it all before we even laid Bernard,
to rest make me sick! They never knew him at all; he didn't stand
up in parliament making a political statement, Bernard was a joke
teller! British humour is sometimes hurtful, sometimes cruel and mostly
sarcastic but it's got us through the hard times and remember, while
we are laughing we are not fighting.
It just goes to show how out of touch politicians are with the ordinary
people of this country. We should never apologise for humour.
We are becoming a nanny state because of all the minority of dick
heads who in my opinion are all non-entities.
Thank you and go fuck yourselves!
God bless Bernard. If god's a Muslim we are both in the shite!
Chubby Brown.
I saw Bernard twice at the Pitsmoor Working Mens Club in Sheffield and he played to a packed house both times. He was a working class comedian with working class humour and wasn't afraid to test the boundaries with his material.
He took the piss out of everything and woe betide you if you got up to go to the toilet in the middle of his act because you would be the butt of one of his jokes!!
